New Volvo C30

Lets see if this one comes to the USA

2007 Volvo C30
On Sale : Late 2006
Volvo is busy preparing the smallest addition to the range. The new three-door hatchback will have an unusual profile and have sporting pretensions. Most probably front-wheel-drive, with possible all-wheel-drive options, engines should include one of the current 2.5L turbo five motors, with a T5 generating beyong 250 horses.

I love the return of 2 door coupes! I normally like Volvo's. This one kinda has me iffy. I would have to see this in person.

I'm thinking the C30 will turn into Volvo's newst SUV, an entry level one. Takes aim at the x3 and all of those other small luxury SUVs.

Ouch. Some nasty photochops there, especially the second one. However, the C30 will come to the market into 2007, being marketed against the Audi A3.

I'm guessing it will be Volvo's take on the Ford Focus RS, including the turbo-five and an optional AWD. I'm pretty confident the front end will very closely resemble the current S40, V50, and C70, though I hope that rakish, sleek rear hatch remains mostly intact for the production version.

And no, this will NOT become an SUV, as it is simply too small. This car will be roughly the size of a Golf/GTI.

Now, I do envision Volvo making a raised, SUV-ized V50 wagon, likely to be called the XC50, which will likely compete with the likes of the Subaru Outback Sport (the Impreza-based Outback, not the Legacy-based one)...

Back looks good, front will probably be like the S40... side absolutely boring to me - just a slab.

i'm sure it'll be a wonderful car, and i hope the styling of the front and rear make up for, what seems in my opinion, a plain jane side.

Looks really weird towards the back- I wouldn't buy. As for the interior, I don't expect much difference from that of the S40.

I like it. I like Volvo's styling and I think it's the better of the two Swedish companies here in the US. The C30's rear is a lot like this Citrone I saw in a book.

Its coming. If it rides as well as the european Ford Focus (on which it is based) it has a lot of chances in hitting the A3. Im not so sure about the interior space, it looks small
