If the Mazda5 and (maybe) Ford C-Max do well, I see no reason for Honda not to bring it over here.

Whats up with the picture of the guy in a wet suit looking at a duck?

You know, if you hadn't mentioned it, I wouldn't have given it a second look.

I have no idea why they put the man and the duck in the shot. That's a terrible picture!

I'll hazard a guess and say the man was swimming, found his dinner (the duck) and is going to eat him in his new Honda. He's holding his nose because that's the neanderthal way of saying he has produced a stinky and unfavorable plan involving a duck eaten in a Honda as a means of satisfying his craving for raw duck.

By the way, IMHO the station wagon would make a reasonable competitor to the Mercedes Benz R-class.

Bon appetite!

Hmm. I didn't notice the duck either. I think the whole image is a visual koan (study in opposites). See you're supposed to observe the man in the wetsuit, then look at the duck, and meditate on what differences and similiarities they have. Very zen, isn't it?

Japanese marketing is really odd to say the least- the people in their ads are always caucasian, and most of them look like they were shot somewhere in California, much like this one.

BTW- Honda already had an R-class style vehicle- the JDM Odyssey

How to lose... your mind

*GOOOODDDD MOORRNIINGGGG VIEEETTNAAMMM!!!!!*

*CHANTING LIKE A BUNCH OF MONKS FROM THE 14TH CENTURY*

Oh... hell yeah!!!
Let me get my fat paws on that fat hairy monkey bast*ard.. and have some real fun!!!

Oooo yeah!!!! *bounces off the wall*

*starts to dream* There can.. be a REVOLUTION.. in the way Honda is viewed by its.. customers. OOoo I can see it now *looking into the distance* Honda making athletic cars, Sport versions of everythng they have.. with Mugen commercials... And yes.. that technically is the Odessey for overseas. It's just a matter of the different designs like the multiple sunroofs in the Nissan minivan.. those swoopy ideas arent taken well here.

Id love that idea for everything. As for the new.. Civic coming out in 06.. *spawns a large drooling puddle*.. MMmmmm I can see it now.. New Accord for 2009 / 2010. Along the same lines.. athletic, excellent handling.. durable 5door design... I can soo see it now...

Honda getting rid of its.. vanilla image.. and switching to.. Butterscotch SWIRL!!!

ooOOOOOoo imagine how many people.. buy Hondas and Toyotas every year because they just do.. now give them an excuse.. imagine.. 300 for Honda.. *giggles* ooo Im gettign giddy...

*chanting* Honda Honda Honda Honda....

The Airwave looks like something from 15 years ago. It's almost like a wagon version of the Acura Vigor (but smaller?) Whats with that badge in the C-pillar? Some things are better off left in Japan.

Remember how odd the Pathfinder was.. And how long it took Nissan to get it right?? A trait i like about is.. the stamping on the back to hold a 1st aid kit and the rear door handles.. made in the pillars.

I detest suvs as a whole... but styling is an issue I like.. before its on the streets.

I dont even think.. it will come to the u.s a victim of gas prices.. and design challenges... and weak dollar.

I just did that GM lovefest thingy that's touring the country, and I'd offer to say not much.

Looking at the Airwave a second time, I am not as impressed. It is a look that we have seen Honda do over and over and over again. Nice, but formulaic.
The interior and sunroof stand out. Exterior styling is too conservative even for my conservative tastes.

That car does look quite ugly on the outside but the interior is ok I guess. But then again thats typical Honda.

Exactly, the Corvette wins two thubs up for 'truck of the year' from me.

As the for Honda, the low sleek body is quite attractive as far as wagons go.

Hey, you're not the only one who notices this.

I definitely agree with you on this one because this happens all the time.

I mean, I myself have watched tons of Japanese car commercials and from what I can say, over 94% of them feature Caucasian attirbutes (people, location or both).

Examples:
Nissan Note - Argentina
Toyota Crown Athlete - Austria
Honda Edix (a.k.a. FR-V) - San Diego, California, USA
Nissan Tiida (Hatchback) - Italy, Ireland
Honda JDM Odyssey - New York, Los Angeles and San Fransisco
Nissan Lafesta - Sydney, Australia

and the list goes on and on...............

As for my comments on the Airwave, it's just your typical Honda. Exterior is so-so while the interior, dashboard and panoramic roof are great. An average car but I think it's the advertising that makes it neat.

Well, that's that and if you are interested in some SPY PICS for the Fit/Jazz that was spotted in person, the link is here:

Shot in Miami, Florida btw.

Anyways, I'm new here so forgive me if I sound like I'm rushing or in a hurry.

This "Airwave" doesn't impress me stylistically, and based on the styling direction in which Honda NA seems to be headed, it won't fit in the lineup. It looks to me to be an old Odyssey (1st gen, still sold in Japan) with a slightly new skin, i.e. Ford Windstar/Freestar. If the new 5-door Euro Civic joins the Acura lineup (CSX is the rumored name), I'd love to see Honda bring the Stream or FR-V to slot between Accord and Civic.

FR-V: http://www.honda.co.uk/cars/newcars/...=&wheelPartNo=

Stream: http://www.honda.co.uk/cars/newcars/...=&wheelPartNo=

I just took another look at the Airwave photos, and then compared them to the Fit.. it is definitely a Fit wagon, not a reskinned Odyssey. Much smaller, and the 1.5-liter motor should have tipped me off. While I have always enjoyed the smaller Hondas (Fit/Jazz/City, Beat, et al.) I think they would be wise to wait for the next generation before bringing it to the States.

The rsx... is civic like the Integra was. No real sense in a Crx...?? Nice idea. Id like to see it as part of the Accord.. graft on that rear end... or lift up the Accord and weld that body on..
