For the long time members on this site, check out this article that was on MSNBC's home page today.

I know you guys think I am a raging idiot, but EVERYTHING I have been ranting about for the last 3 years is coming true. You wait, Toyota wont spend much time on GM's throne. Japans unfair trade practices will no longer be swept under the rug becuase the US government bailed them out. There is to much money at stake to ignore the reality of what has happened.

The US media is FINALLY starting to focus there attention on non US manufactures. Toyota cannot hide anymore. It will get alot worse for them, wait until the hatred that has been taught for decades regarding US products is focused on them. I dont feel sorry for Toyota, and dam sure dont feel sorry for anyone that has participated in bashing US manufactures.

Like I have said for years, Toyota wont get the free pass anymore when GM takes federal money to stay afloat. This is the tip of the iceburg, in ten years Toyota will be looked by the general public the same way they looked at the big 3 ten years ago. And it will be well deserved and long over due.

So, Toyota misses the mark when it comes to safety now. I like how they respond, blame it on someone else. Toyota will soon be exposed as the pretender it has always been and you GM haters will wonder what happened. In reality, they were who they are now, they just dont have the media hiding the truth anymore.

I guess the rust problem that one million plus Toyota Tacoma's had for a decade spread to the Tundra while they were parked side by side on the freighter while being shipped here from Japan. Maybe it's the Pacific Oceans fault?

Interesting theory, except for one small detail. Neither the Tacoma or the Turndra are shipped across the Pacific from Japan. The Tacoma is made in Freemont, California and the Tundra is built in San Antonio, Texas.

Not that I really care one way or the other. Pickups aren't my thing, so I really have no interest here.

It's not really my theory, just my sarcasm.

My theory is that Toyota has been a media darling for twenty years and has never been able to live up to the hype. The same " media" has been breaking down everything made in the US along with the core of the country at the same time.

The tides have turned, you just watch what happens to the farce that is Toyota quality and consumers opinions of US products over the next ten years. Mark my words, it is already starting to happen. In actuality, it happened 10 - 15 years ago, but the media will finally give Toyota it's rewards for mediocre quality and the insistance on blaming some one else for it's problems.

I have been on this site for several years saying the same thing, and now it's becoming reality.
